Well the holidays are over and I must admit to having had a great time. Visited with my sister in Cary, NC., sort of like an immediate family reunion. The gathering consisted of my brother, daughter, niece, nephew, father, and my sister and her husband. Needless to say everyone ate too much. With a menu of ham, turkey, collards, pies, cakes, potato salad, yams, black-eyed peas (yum-yum), ham-hicks, and for goodness sake don't let me forget those once and a lifetime chittlins'--no festive Gullah meal is complete without them. The actual day was spent eating, snacking and football games. Hoe bout the Jags. Too be quite frank the year has been a good one for my team. Well the determiner of weather or not they'll Really accomplish something will be this Sunday. They will face again one of the league's premier teams in the Colts. The last outing against them was not a successful one for the Jags. Hopefully the guys will do better at this next upcoming tryst.
The trip to and from Cary proved to be one of colorful wonder. The trees have finally decided to exhibit their fall coloring. Absolutely beautiful.
As you can see after every great meal there is the cleanup aftermath. Just wonder why my niece and sister complain about placing the dishes in the washer. Remember when we were growing up she did as many amd more by hand. Ha! Go figure.
